1st Brookwood Scouts are currently looking for help with the following roles. If you feel you can help us, please fill in the Volunteer Form so we can contact you:

  • Parent Representative(s): We value your feedback to help 1st Brookwood Scouts Group improve and progress.  Can you spare an hour 3/4 times a year to attend Group meetings and provide feedback from a Parent’s perspective.
  • Quarter Master: This role is for checking, maintaining and ordering equipment used in group excursions and activities. This role could be for one person or can be divided between a few volunteers, and is only required when events requiring equipment are scheduled, or when a stock-take is required. Training will be provided.
  • 200 Club Administrator: Four 200 club draws take place annually. This role would collect payments for the draws and administer the members register as required. The system of administering the 200 Club is mature but training will be provided.
  • DBS Coordinator:
  1. Point parents and volunteers towards the forms on the website
  2. Provide their contact details to receive the forms
  3. Submit the forms
  4. Update a spreadsheet or similar on OSM of who has been checked and when
  5. Chase up any who have not been checked
  6. This role does not involve any regular meetings, it can be done when the role holder has time
  • Beavers/Cubs/Scouts Leader/Assistant:
  1. Attend meetings for approx 1-1.5 hours on a Friday evening (term-time only)
  2. Have fun and teach scouting skills
  3. Training will be provided
  4. This can be on a rotational basis, you don’t have to attend every Friday
  • Family Camp Coordinator (held once every 2 years):
  1. Send emails out to parents letting them know camp dates
  2. Book camp venue
  3. Keep a note of numbers attending, coordinate this with the rest of the Scout Team
  4. Chase up parents for attendance confirmation and parents
  5. This role does not involve any regular meetings, it can be done when the role holder has time
